Daily Sketch Day 5

Christmas Tree

I made this project because Christmas is coming, although not soon. I was also depressed back then when I started working on the project and I wanted to make myself happy; for me, just looking at the Christmas tree makes me cheerful. I also wanted to people to be cheerful by looking at our duct-tape Christmas tree. Plus, I wanted to try out if we can make a Christmas tree only using straight lines. I wanted to test my ability to make a mural using something that I have never thought of.
We all drew something. We then chose some of them so we could make a mural. I came out with the idea of the gift box, Lam drew the tree, and Derrick and came out with the idea of the thing on the top of the tree. Khanh made the gift box and while I made the tree and the thing on the top of the tree. Josh took the pictures.
The purpose of the artwork is the coming of the Christmas.
I chose the Christmas tree and the gift box because those are the two things I first think of the word Christmas.
We used contour technique for the project. This technique was used to make the Christmas tree.
The principles used in this artwork are type, direction, and measure. A straight line was used everywhere in the Christmas tree. The curved line was used to make the circle thing on the top of the tree. We cut the duct-tape short and put them neatly to make it look like a curved line. The directions of the lines are used to make the Christmas tree. Thick lines were used to make tree look more dignified.
